OSK Foundation Spreads Early Christmas Cheer

OSK Foundation (OSKF) brought early Christmas cheer to 30 children from Praise Emmanuel Children Home and Rumah Charis recently. OSK volunteers through the Gifts of Hope initiative, got the magic of Christmas going by spending some time with the children putting up Christmas tree decorations at Atria Shopping Gallery. Children of both homes teamed up to decorate 10 donated trees from the 'Adopt a Christmas Tree' charity campaign. The adorable children got into the festive spirit by decorating their trees with baubles, ribbons and coloured lights, hoping to get the most votes by the public.
The fun continued when they got to play indoor games of their choice at Molly Fantasy. The surprise did not stop there when few squealed with delight as they opened their Christmas gift package, after a delicious lunch at Fuel Shack. The children aged between 3 to 16 were thrilled as they received their gift from their Secret Santa of good hearted OSKians. Those were the items they had wished for, just right in time for Christmas.
OSK Foundation Brings Children of Rumah Shalom for Fun Bowling Outing

OSK Foundation spread happiness to children of Rumah Shalom in a fun morning bowling outing at Ampang Superbowl, IOI Mall Puchong last Saturday. For most of the children, this was their first ever experience and they really picked it up quickly and had fun. As part of the Gifts of Hope initiative in conjunction with the Deepavali celebration, OSKians once again participated wholeheartedly in this community programme by donating their time or in kind. We managed to collect a generous donation of stationery, kitchen and household essentials for Rumah Shalom. OSK Foundation also made a contribution towards the operational expenditure of the home.
It was heart-warming to see the children so eager to put on their bowling shoes and pick their own bowling balls. More importantly, these children between the ages 7 and 16 were able to interact with our volunteers, have a fun time and bowled confidently. The winners brought back with them hampers to be shared with their brothers and sisters.
For two decades, Rumah Shalom has provided shelter, care and education to underprivileged children who come from families with difficult backgrounds.
OSK Foundation Visits Paediatric Unit of Hospital Kuala Lumpur

15 of our OSK volunteers brought smiles and cheer through OSK Foundation's 'Gift of Hope' community programme to 35 children at the Oncology Ward (KK3) of the Paediatric Unit in Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) during the Hari Raya celebration.
During the visit, the volunteers shared Aidilfitri joy and spirit by contributing goodie bags of food and drinks, as well as colouring books and jigsaw puzzles to all the children. They also received duit raya each. More interestingly, the volunteers brought cakes and sang birthday song to the few celebrating their birthdays in July. The expression on the children's faces was priceless.
OSK Empowers Women with Crime Prevention and Survival Skills

OSK Group held its Crime Prevention and Survival Skills (REACT) programme recently for women employees. The talk by Captain K. Balasupramaniam, the Training Director and Director of Code Red Survival Academy was held on Mar 22 at Plaza OSK's main auditorium. 83 women attended the lunch talk.
Held in conjunction with International Women's Day, the talk aimed to create awareness and equip women with some preventive measures and basic safety defence and survival skills to protect their families and themselves from the threat of crime.
OSKians visit the Elderly

Continuing the Chinese New Year festivities, a group of OSKians visited the elderly at Pusat Penjagaan Warga Emas Chan to spend some time with them. As part of the 'Gifts of Hope' campaign, OSK Foundation also contributed RM2,000 towards the operational expenses of the home.
Prior to the visit, a friendly announcement was made to OSKians through our staff portal seeking for their contribution in-kind. Staying true to the values and generosity of OSKians, we managed to collect RM1,600 worth of daily necessities to be donated to the home including rice, cooking oil, laundry liquid detergent, biscuits and other personal toiletries.
During the visit, volunteers greeted each elderly resident with an ang pow and goodie bag and joined the residents for a karaoke session of evergreen favourites, followed by lunch together.
OSK Foundation Brings Christmas Cheer to the Children from House of Joy

OSK Foundation brought some Christmas cheer to the children from House of Joy by delivering Christmas presents to them, as part of OSK Group's corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. The volunteers from OSK Group had fun celebrating an early Christmas with the children by playing fun games and decorating a Christmas tree together. They also delivered Christmas gifts to the children.
Themed 'Gifts of Hope', this initiative started by gathering the list of Christmas gifts that the children had wished for. The list of gifts requested were displayed at the Plaza OSK lobby and open for OSK staff and tenants to fulfil the children's wishes. OSKVI staff participated by granting a few of the Christmas wishes.

In collaboration with the National Blood Bank, OSK Group organised a blood donation drive which was held on 24 November 2016 at Plaza OSK. The blood donation drive is an annual affair for the OSK Group. The drive started with a week-long campaign which included a mini online quiz and information advisory postings on the OSK Group staff portal to raise awareness about the importance and benefits of donating blood in order to encourage participation at the blood donation drive.
The blood donation drive was a success with overwhelming response and support from employees of OSKVI, OSK Group as well as the tenants of Plaza OSK.
Cancer Awareness Week

In our mission to promote healthy living among employees, OSK Group collaborated with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) to run a one week cancer awareness campaign from 16 May to 20 May 2016. The OSK Group staff portal was updated daily about cancer facts and tips on early cancer prevention. There were also quizzes where staff could win prizes.
On 18th May, representatives from the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) presented a one hour talk on cancer awareness focusing on early detection and prevention at Plaza OSK’s auditorium, which was well received by the staff.
Back to School
On 19 December 2015, 12 volunteers from OSKVI and OSK Group spread Christmas joy and cheer to 21 underprivileged children of Rumah Sayangan with Christmas presents and Back to School kits.
During the visit, the volunteers and children decorated the home with Christmas ornaments and had fun playing a variety of games and activities together. The children’s faces lit up with glee when they received their Christmas gifts which were specially chosen as well as the Back to School kits from the volunteers. Volunteers also came together to specially wrap and prepare the gifts days prior to the visit. The fun-filled Christmas celebration ended with a presentation of cash donation of RM2,000 jointly from OSKVI and OSK Group to the home to fund its operating expenses.
OSK Health Day
Almost 200 health conscious participants comprising employees of OSKVI, OSK Group as well as tenants of Plaza OSK turned up for the OSK Health Day 2015 on 3 November 2015. Among the activities held included complimentary basic health screening for blood pressure, body mass index, glucose level by KPJ Damansara and a bone health check conducted by Anlene. All participants were given a report upon completion of the health tests and were provided with a free consultation on bone health in preventing osteoporosis as well as free sampling of Anlene products.
OSKVI was actively involved in the OSK-PJD annual blood donation drive which was held in conjunction with World Blood Donor Day on 17 June 2015 at Plaza OSK. Jointly organised by the OSK Group comprising OSK Holdings Berhad and its subsidiaries, OSK Property Holdings Berhad and PJ Development Holdings Berhad as well as OSKVI in collaboration with the National Blood Bank, the blood donation drive was a success with overwhelming response and support from employees of OSKVI, OSK Group as well as the tenants of Plaza OSK.
Home painting at Rumah Shalom
Rumah Shalom, a children welfare home in Puchong, Selangor had a long-overdue facelift to its eight bathrooms and wall fences, thanks to OSKVI and OSKH, who came forward to help the welfare home with dire needs to fix bathroom defects.
Besides appointing a contractor to handle the repairing works, the volunteers of OSKVI and OSKH spent their weekend morning giving a new coat of paint to the bathrooms and wall fences of Rumah Shalom. Four units of wall fans were also donated to Rumah Shalom, which will be installed to improve the ventilation condition in the children’s room.
‘Frost the Trail’ Charity Run
For the second consecutive year, OSKVI participated in the Frost the Trail charity run organised by Frost and Sullivan that brought together Malaysia’s leading corporations to raise funds for charity. This year, OSKVI sent two teams of eight runners to join the charity run which was held on 18 October 2014 at FRIM, Kuala Lumpur. About RM55,000 was raised during the event for the underprivileged children of Shelter Home.
Tree Planting at Raja Musa Forest Reserve
On 23 August 2014, about 22 staff of OSKVI and OSK Holdings participated in a tree planting activity and planted 80 “Tenggek Burung” saplings at the Raja Musa Forest Reserve, near Batang Berjuntai, Selangor. Conducted by the Global Environment Centre Reserve, the objective of the annual event was to replant trees in sections of the Raja Musa peat swamp forest which were damaged by fires. Damaged peat swamp will release significant amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming. The event involved hundreds of volunteers from other organisations who shared the same value in conserving the environment.
Health Screening for Employees
In our quest to promote healthy living among employees, OSKVI and OSK Holdings collaborated with National Kidney Foundation (NKF) to provide free health screening for all employees. The free health screening covered blood pressure test, urine test and blood test to assess the risk for stroke, heart, kidney diseases and diabetes. Nutritionists of NKF also conducted two health talks to educate employees on ways to prevent risk of developing diabetes and kidney disease.
